How do I uninstall an RPM?

To remove or uninstall any package installed on RHEL or CentOS-based Linux, we cause rpm package manager tool or YUM/DNF. Here are the commands:

To use RPM command:

rpm -e package-name

example

rpm -e virtualbox-6.0.rpm

Remove RPM using YUM command:

The Yum command is popular and easy to remember: Just type:

yum remove package-name

example:

Use DNF to remove RPM installed package or software

The usage of Yum and DNF is the same, thus the way we have used the yum, in the same way:

dnf remove package name

example:

dnf remove virtualBox.6.0.rpm
